Employee Survey is Important for “Caring for our People”

“Caring for Our People, Customers, Communities, and Environment” is a fundamental aspect of the daily operations at Reed Family Companies. From our Caring Safety Culture, which prioritizes the physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of every team member, to our partnerships with customers and vendors to support our communities and environment, we consistently demonstrate our company’s culture of caring.
“Caring for our People” is first in the tag line of our logo because our healthy, happy, knowledgeable, and skilled people are critical to serving our customers well. We are proud of the reputation our people have developed for serving customers reliability and efficiently with consistently high-quality construction, materials, and equipment. High customer satisfaction results in a strong business that gives back to the communities in which we live. We donate volunteer hours and dollars to so many important causes that you have read about in previous newsletters and on social media with some of the most recent being the X-Hope “Caring for Kids” scholarship, Modesto Touch-A-Truck, Burbank Paradise Fire District, and the Modesto Graffiti Classic Car Museum.

It is again that time of year when we ask for your feedback via the Employee Engagement Survey. You should have already received an email with a QR code for the survey. If you missed the email, look for workplace posters regarding the survey, or ask your HR representative. While individual responses are anonymous, combined it gives valuable
information that we use to improve policies, implement new programs, and in other ways make this an even better place to work. In response to last year’s survey data, we are rolling out the R.E.E.D. Recognition Portal to encourage more appreciation for the many ways in which our people go above and beyond on a daily basis. Our company’s S.E.R.V.I.C.E. principle of “Caring for our people” includes the belief that feedback to employees is a gift. We routinely give both positive/appreciation feedback and performance improvement feedback. This year we standardized and improved the way that we give corrective feedback.
“Caring for our People” is more than having fun together with events like 7-11 Family Day, RFC Ten Pin Bowling & Laser tag, VSS Day at the Ball Park, GRI’s Halloween event, RII all-hands barbeque, and various other appreciation lunches, holiday parties, and spontaneous pizza celebrations. It is more than encouraging good health with wellness programs. It is more than matching donations to the charities that mean the most to you. It is asking for your feedback on how we can improve our company and then acting on it.
The Employee Engagement survey will take 5 to 10 minutes to complete. Your thoughtful feedback is a demonstration of caring that makes the Reed Family Companies successful and a special place to work. Thank you!
