At Reed Family Companies, we believe that empowerment is key to both personal growth and organizational success. Empowerment is a key part of our company’s S.E.R.V.I.C.E Principles and values. But what does empowerment really mean? In essence, empowerment is about giving our employees the authority, confidence, and resources to take initiative and make decisions. It’s about fostering an environment where everyone feels valued, trusted, and capable of contributing their best.
Companies will reap the benefits of empowering their people as the direct results of empowerment are: Boosting confidence and morale, encouraging innovation, enhances efficiency, and ultimately builds a stronger team.

On May 30, 2024, our 5th group of future leaders celebrated the completion of our most recent session of Reed’s internal management training program, Managing Oneself: Empowering Others. These graduates, and emerging leaders, studied the different ways they can empower themselves to be better leaders and in turn learned how to influence and empower others.
A few ways we can foster empowerment within our companies are to have open communication, create and communicate opportunities for growth, foster autonomy and responsibility and leadership being supportive of these initiatives.
Empowerment is not just a buzzword—it’s a principle at Reed Family Companies. When everyone feels empowered, it cultivates a supportive and cohesive team dynamic, where each member’s contributions are recognized and valued.
Together, we can achieve remarkable things. Let’s continue to embrace empowerment and unlock our full potential!
