International Self-Care Day 2026 takes place on Friday, July 24. Established in 2011, the date purposefully aligns with "24/7" (July 24), symbolizing that maintaining your physical and mental well-being is a daily, lifelong commitment rather than a one-time event.

Every day, our employees work hard to keep projects moving, support their teams, and serve our communities. But one of the most important jobs we all have is taking care of ourselves.

International Self-Care Day, observed each year on July 24 (7/24), serves as a reminder that self-care is something we should practice 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Self-care isn't about luxury or taking time away from responsibilities, it's about making small, healthy choices that help you feel your best both on and off the job.

Simple Ways to Practice Self-Care

  • 💧 Stay hydrated. Especially during the summer months, drinking plenty of water helps prevent fatigue, headaches, and heat-related illnesses.

  • 🥗 Fuel your body. Choose balanced meals and healthy snacks that provide lasting energy throughout the workday.

  • 😴 Prioritize sleep. Aim for 7–9 hours of quality sleep each night to improve focus, reaction time, and overall well-being.

  • 🚶 Keep moving. Even a short walk or stretching for a few minutes can help reduce muscle stiffness and improve your mood.

  • 🧠 Take care of your mental health. Manage stress by taking breaks, spending time with loved ones, enjoying hobbies, or simply taking a few deep breaths during a busy day.

  • 🤝 Stay connected. Reach out to family, friends, or coworkers when you need support. Strong relationships are an important part of overall wellness.

Remember: You Matter

Self-care isn't selfish—it's essential. When you invest in your physical, mental, and emotional health, you're better equipped to work safely, support your team, and enjoy life outside of work.

This July 24, challenge yourself to do one thing that supports your well-being. Whether it's drinking an extra bottle of water, taking a walk after dinner, getting to bed a little earlier, or simply taking a moment to recharge, every healthy choice adds up.

Healthy employees build stronger teams, safer workplaces, and healthier communities.
