Celebrating Fernando "Nando" Velasquez

Nando has been an incredible asset to our team at 711 Materials for nearly three years. His journey in the Ready-mix industry began at the young age of 19, and since then, he has taken on various roles, including ready-mix driver, loader operator, and batchman.

Nando has competed in several Truck rodeos, securing 1st place twice and 3rd place in a loader competition. His skills even took him to Washington, where he placed 6th out of 100 competitors.

Recently, Nando has been operating the portable ready-mix plant in Tracy, batching over 1000 yards/night, six days a week. His positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond to get the job done make him an invaluable member of our team. If you ever get the chance to meet Nando, you'll find that he is humble and it is always a pleasure to talk with him.

Nando is married for 24 years to his wife, Christina and they have two wonderful children. His daughter, Rose, attends St. Mary's University, and his son, Fernando, Jr, is a senior in high school about to start at Merced College in the fall. Outside of work, Nando enjoys snowboarding and spending time with his family and their three dogs.
