Since 1944 Reed Family Companies have strived to be the industry leader in all categories related to excellence from employee development, innovation, commitment to safety, and quality craftsmanship.

Throughout the years, consistent training emphasizing the importance of employee development helps shape who we are and what we do.  A great example is during our Annual Foreman meetings we bring in our field management team and focus on the dynamics of how we operate and take considerations on how we can consistently improve.  All Employees are stakeholders, and valued opinions come highly regarded.

Being relentless in the pursuit of innovative ways to build our projects allows us to stay ahead of the curve.  Even the simplest of projects can benefit from innovation.  Creativity and thinking outside the norm help achieve excellence by active engagement and encouraging imagination.  After all, people are the backbone of our business.

Having a zero compromise towards safety culture allows for all employees to return safely to their families.  At RFC, taking shortcuts regarding safety is not an option.  Currently, George Reed has not had an MSHA violation at any of their quarries since 2022.  Our incident rate continues to reduce although our business has been consistently growing.  AED’s were installed this year in all GRI foreman vehicles to ensure that we have the best options available in case an emergency.

Excellent craftsmanship is what we do.  Having a sense of pride in our work is something that sets us apart from the competition.  In today’s competitive market, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to stand out but there is one thing that we refuse to compromise, and that’s our excellent craftsmanship.  During the 2024 Construction Season, the Reed Family Companies were recognized for their commitment to excellence and some of these have been highlighted in the newsletter earlier this year:
