George Reed – Emergency Flood Control Response and Repairs

Updated: Feb 1, 2023

As many of us living in the state have wished for more water to replenish our depleted reservoirs, none of us imagined the catastrophic damage that would occur with these recent waves of storms. California was dealt a storm of the century.

With the winter storm hitting the state following the Christmas holiday, George Reed was ready to respond. The team at Jackson Valley Quarry worked around the clock through the New Year’s weekend and beyond supporting our local communities. The team at Table Mountain Quarry more recently worked around the clock to also support various communities as well.

Some of the most impactful areas of our region faced levee breaks and compromised waterways which required large Rip Rap aggregates to alleviate further damage. When the calls started coming in, we went to work. We supplied aggregates to various impacted areas but notably the areas of Wilton, Galt, Thorton, Merced, and Manteca.

The George Reed construction crews are only at the beginning of our journey to fix the areas compromised by the storm. George Reed is at full attention to support our fellow neighbors and region by supplying the materials and to doing the hard work required to fully repair this historic storm’s damage to infrastructure.
