This project in honor of her is deeply personal for Rick Juels, a member of the work crew from George Reed, Inc. "There is blood in that concrete, symbolically," said Juels. Not only is Juels a fellow Marine, but his brother is Gee's uncle. "I'm just honored and proud that I could do this for my brother and her family. She was well-loved, especially here in her hometown. It's just an awesome way of honoring Nicole," Juels said.

Juels flew a Marine flag next to the American flag atop the paving equipment. "I hope all Americans remember the soldiers that gave their all for their freedom and their rights and their prosperity," Juels said.

Nicole Gee Drive in West Roseville will soon become an enduring reminder of her sacrifice. The sacrifice of Nicole Gee will never be forgotten. The roadway is expected to be completed in a few months.
