February is American Heart Month, and on Friday, February 6, 2026, we’re proud to stand with organizations nationwide for National Wear Red Day—a day dedicated to raising awareness about heart health. Because no matter the job, you can’t be safe without your health.

The American Heart Association is partnering with leaders across the construction industry through Hard Hats with Heart—an initiative designed to meet workers where they are, provide practical education, and inspire healthier choices on and off the job. From encouraging movement and better nutrition to reducing tobacco use and managing stress, small changes can lead to lifesaving results.
This February, we’re excited to support that mission in a hands-on way. We’ve created Hard Hats with Heart stickers, which will be distributed in the month of February to help keep heart health top of mind on the job and in the office. A small reminder can spark big conversations—and real change.
We’re also hosting our annual Go Red Challenge in honor of National Wear Red Day! On February 6, wear red or decorate your cubicle or office in red for a chance to win a prize. It’s a fun and meaningful way to show support, raise awareness, and stand together for heart health.

Construction workers face a significantly higher risk of cardiovascular disease than many other professions. Long hours, physically demanding work, high stress, limited access to nutritious food, and elevated tobacco use all take a toll on the heart. Nearly half of construction workers don’t get enough exercise, and 1 out of 4 uses tobacco, the leading preventable cause of death in the U.S. These risks add up—hundreds of thousands of construction workers have already been diagnosed with cardiovascular disease.
Hard Hats with Heart: Building a Healthier Workforce
Prioritizing heart health in the workplace isn’t just good for individuals—it creates safer jobsites, stronger teams, and a more productive workforce. This February, wear red, start the conversation, and help us build a future where every worker has the tools to live a longer, healthier life.
Together, we can rewrite the story—one heartbeat at a time.
