Joyce Chong, VSSE's Dispatcher Extrodinaire

This month, we are proud to recognize Joyce Chong for her outstanding contributions to VSSE and VSSI!

Joyce has been a valued member of the VSSE team for three years. Although this is her first role within the construction industry, she has embraced it wholeheartedly and continues to make a significant impact every day. As a Transportation Dispatcher, Joyce serves as a vital link between our customers, company drivers, and field supervisors, ensuring communication is clear, deliveries are on time, and projects continue moving forward without interruption.

When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Joyce shared that it’s the diversity, the people, and the team at VSS, along with the strong relationships she’s built. She appreciates being part of a team where everyone works hard and is always willing to lend a helping hand. Even during the busiest and most challenging peak seasons, Joyce’s positive outlook helps make her role both fun and fulfilling.

Joyce understands how important a positive work environment is. She believes that working alongside supportive teammates makes it easier to come to work each day motivated and ready to give her best. She takes pride in her work and confidently shares that she knows she plays a key role in ensuring delivery times are met so our field crews can complete their jobs on schedule.

What motivates Joyce? Growth. As someone new to the construction industry just a few years ago, she has developed a genuine passion for the field. She is committed to continuing to expand her knowledge and provide unwavering support to the team.

Outside of work, Joyce enjoys traveling whenever she gets the chance. These days, she considers herself a bit of a homebody, staying busy with her husband and their four children, whose ages range from 12 to their early 20s. Between sports and school activities, life is full and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
