VSS International held their annual Labor Day Safety Stand Down at both their West Sacramento, CA & Chandler, AZ sites.
These stand downs are an excellent opportunity for the company management to be able to reconnect with the field crews who work so tirelessly on-the-road; advising them of current standings YTD on critical safety factors as well as recognize their Top Drivers.
During this meeting, VSSI was also proud to present Project Manager Bobby Wheeler and Chip Box Operator Carl Michler with their prestigious “Safety Icon” award. VSSI recognizes “Safety Icons” as employees who’ve gone above and beyond the call of duty to truly put safety first in their efforts to help the company build a true Culture of Safety.
Special thanks to Lonnie Morelock, our consultant whose guidance has enabled our teams to incorporate optimal procedures into their everyday operations. The meeting culminated with a Mini-Driver’s Rodeo, in which all field employees took place in hands-on practice behind the wheels of both Macropavers and F-Series pickups in an effort to help educate drivers further on safe driving practices.
