Oscar Magana, 711 Materials

Sometimes we think of large progress when discussing innovation in the workplace, but new ideas on doing a job a little faster and more efficiently are just as important. This month when discussing innovation in our workplace, Oscar’s name came to the top of the list.

Oscar Magana started at 711 Materials just two months ago in August 2023. In this very short time, he is already making a name for himself. His hard work and dedication are apparent every single day, so much so that other employees are

taking notice of the quality of his work and are speaking up. Although Oscar was originally hired as a bottom dump driver, he has been tasked with cleaning up our Stockton ready-mix yard, a job that had been truly long overdue.

Always with a smile and sometimes with a whistle, Oscar took on this project with gusto. While hosing down the ready-mix yard he came up with an ingenious way to improve this task. He rinsed out one of our empty admixture totes, cut some specific holes, filled it with water and loaded it on to the forks of our lift. Now while driving the lift around the yard, he sends water exactly where he needs it to go while saving so much time and effort. Oscar’s quality, quantity and efficiency of work are exemplary.
