Modesto’s July 4th Parade theme was “United WE Stand” and it was with pride that we witnessed for the first time all the operating companies coming down the road in procession. It was a powerful symbol of not only the breath of our company’s scope (from mining the rock, to producing the asphalt and concrete, to paving the road and then keeping it maintained), but of how we all work together to achieve our vision of being the premier integrated road construction, materials, and equipment company.
While many in the crowd were enthralled with the size and variety of construction equipment, it was our people who demonstrated the Reed Company’s Principle of “our long-term VIABILITY depends on having a strong workforce ready to work and lead.” Pride and dedication was on display from those waving enthusiastically from the George Reed flagship car and equipment, to our team of 7-11 drivers encouraging other women to consider working in the construction industry, to our own Uncle Sam demonstrating a safety first culture by scouting for hazards in front of the haul truck, to the strong family values evident with the young family in the cab of the VSS Macropaver and a mother/daughter team waving the flags at the end of our procession. Thank you to everyone who made our debut appearance in this parade so successful!
