VSS Fall Safety Standdown 2026

VSS held their Fall Safety Standdown on September 8th. Part of the day was broken out in different sections where employees in groups rotated to different stations for hands-on learning. Some of the topics discussed were:


  • Maintaining Equipment for Safety and Operator Responsibilities

  • Mental Health and Suicide Prevention, 988 Crisis Line, and EAP resources

  • DVIR Pre and Post Trip Inspections including a Hands-on Test for Macropaver, F-550, Tractor and Trailer

  • End of Season Fatigue (see post about End of Season Fatigue)

  • Awards and Recognitions

    • Payroll Raffle Award

    • Yosemite Photo Contest Award

    • Top Driver Awards August

    • RFC “Safety Idol” Award
