VSS International hosted our annual Memorial Day Safety Stand-Down event May 27, 2025!

This event brought together our teams from both West Sacramento and Arizona to engage in crucial discussions on workplace safety.

During the event, we emphasized several key topics:

• Safety Initiatives: Driver safety, compliance, and tips for improving safety on the job.

• Hydration and Heat Safety: As temperatures rise, the importance of hydration was emphasized, with recommendations for staying hydrated to prevent heat-related illnesses. Participants were urged to recognize the signs of heat illness early and to take preventive measures seriously.

• Fire Prevention: Best practices for preventing fires on job sites were discussed, alongside effective response strategies for grass fires and proper use of fire extinguishers.

• Equipment Care: The care and management of equipment, stressing the importance of maintaining cleanliness and proper fueling practices to ensure safety and efficiency.

The event concluded with an inspiring awards segment, where we celebrated our top drivers and recognized their exemplary performance, as well as rolled out our new "Safety Icon" awards to employees who have gone above and beyond in the name of safety.
