Congratulations to April's Safety Idols, Trevor Cook & Kyle Biggs of 7/11

The RFC Safety Team would like to recognize Trevor Cook and Kyle Biggs of 7/11 Materials for exercising their right of Stop Work Authority. Stop Work Authority, is not only the right of all RFC Company employees, but an obligation to refuse to conduct unsafe work. Trevor and Kyle were instructed to use a manlift as a hoist to remove a motor from the head pulley on a conveyor belt carrying material. They both recognized the seriousness and potential dangers of this action and respectfully refused to perform this unsafe request. They then went through the proper channels to report this immediately. By not taking short cuts, both Trevor and Kyle kept themselves, and their fellow team members from potentially being injured. It is important to follow proper procedures and use tools and equipment as their designed and intended use. It may take a little bit longer but pays off in the long run when everyone goes home safely. Congrats to this month's safety idols!
